Weekend in Wyoming...

Right after Ashton got home from his scout day camp, he and Gunnar and I took off and went to Grandma & Grandpa Harry's house for the weekend.

We got there about 6:00 or 6:30 that night and stayed till Sunday morning.

We mostly just hung out at the house and went for a fun hike up in the Uintas on Saturday.

We drove about 30 miles, then got out and did the hike to Ruth Lake. It is beautiful up there. So other than Ashton not feeling very good and complaining the whole way up, it was fun. According to Kelli's watch...we did 2.6 miles I think.

 It was fun to get out.
After we got back to the house Ashton still kept saying his stomach and head hurt, then he ended up going downstairs and falling asleep for a couple hours which NEVER happens...so I knew he must not have felt too good. So Grandpa Harry stayed home with him and Gunnar while the rest of us went to church. Luckily he felt a lot better when we got home.

Lars was gone fishing Friday night and Saturday, so we saw him when we got home on Sunday a little after noon.
I feel bad...the boys are starting to get car sick sometimes and Gunnar was feeling pretty miserable on the ride home through the canyon. I pulled over once because he thought he was going to throw up, but he didn't. He fell asleep after that.
Anyway it was nice to make a trip to Wyoming and the weather was actually really nice :)

Scout Day Camp...

The Friday before last Ashton got to go to a fun all day scout camp. Lars took the day off and went with him.

They left at 7:30 that morning and didn't get back till about 3:30.

Sounds like it was lots of fun! I told Lars to take pictures and he took lots for me. Ashton got to do archery, bmx bike riding, bb gun shooting, rock wall climbing, a fun zip line, and other things I can't think of right now.

I'm glad he got to go have this fun day with Lars...Gunnar and I stayed home and got stuff packed up to take to Wyoming that afternoon after they got home.

First campout of the summer!

A couple weekends ago, we went camping up Logan Canyon in the Sunrise Campground that is at the very top of the canyon before you drop down into Bear Lake. We've driven by it hundreds of times probably but hadn't ever camped there before. It is a really nice campground! Lars drove though it one day on his way back from fishing and wrote down the numbers of the best spots, then got online and reserved one about a week before we went. Lucky #11 :)

Anyway we went up on Friday night and came home on Sunday. It is always a lot of work, but so worth it. The boys love everything about it and when the weekend was over they were asking when we could go again.
