Tramp Sleep~Out!

Ever since we got the trampoline, the boys have been begging for a night that we could camp out on it. So finally about a week and a half ago we decided on a night to do it. The days have been so hot here, we figured it wouldn't be too bad.
So we put out our sleeping bags, pillows and blankets and snuggled in...the boys took awhile to wind down as I expected, but eventually they fell asleep.
I have to say it was SO uncomfortable! And it got pretty chilly in the middle of the night. So I made it till 1:30, before I snuck in to my warm bed :) The boys and Lars actually lasted till 7:30 am, but Lars said it was a pretty miserable night! The boys were cold, and the neighbors ran their AC all night long!
Oh well now we can say we did it...and maybe when they get a lot older they can sleep out there on their own!

A is for Aquatics Center...

We are checking lots of things off of our ABC summer list, but the one that Ashton thought of for A has been his most anticipated one...going to our local pool, the Aquatics Center! I think he is half fish...he loves the water! Well until it comes to swimming lessons that is....
Anyway he has been doing this fun program all summer so far, 2 days a week at the River Heights school called Fun & Fitness and the last day was on Tuesday and it was at the pool. So Gunnar and I just decided to join him and we also took our cute neighbor girl Kenna with us.
If you know me, you know I hate to swim and really don't like to go to the pool, but I have to say it was such a fun day! I guess I just know how much the boys love it and it's more fun as they get more independent. We stayed for a little over 4 hours. Here are some of the pictures from the day...
On our way out the door...I think Ashton was a little excited :)
Gunnar you are so cute I could squeeze you!
He loves it about as much as Ashton, just not quite as brave yet...
These 2 were so cute and had SO much fun together!
Ashton dramatically throwing himself into the water :)
 So fun :)
I'm sure we'll go back a couple times before the summer is over....

Date night with Ashton....

Ashton and I hadn't done a date night in a LONG time, so I thought it would be fun to get out with just him and do something.
He chose Pizza Pie Cafe for dinner, then wanted to go to TwizlBerry for dessert :)
It is always such a different experience to be with just one child. Such a peaceful car ride!
And fun to just sit and talk to him at dinner and dessert.
I love you so much Ashton...thanks for going on a date with me!
Oh and while we were gone, Lars took Gunnar on a date. His request was Costa Vida...he is SO my child! I could eat there every day :)

Goodbye blue furniture and bathroom makeover...

A few weeks ago Aunt Kelli came down for the day with Grandma's horse trailer to pick up our downstairs furniture that we decided to give her for her new place in Colorado. By the way congratulations Aunt Kelli on your new job!!! We are so proud of you!
Anyway I always knew at some point we would get rid of the furniture that has been in our basement. It is the furniture that we first bought together for our apartment when we were engaged. Interestingly enough way back then before Kelli had even seen our furniture...she had picked out the exact same furniture! Only she just got the love seat and a matching chair. So at the time when she was traveling around a lot as a nurse she decided to get rid of her storage unit and ended up giving us the chair and a couple of tables since it matched what we already had. And she got rid of her love seat. So now all these years later, she got her chair  and tables back and also inherited our couch and love seat.
Sooooo....we said our goodbyes to the furniture that we have sat on, slept on, jumped on, played on, and made many forts out of over the years. It was a little sad, but we were so glad to pass it on to Aunt Kelli and help her furnish her new place in Cortez. Plus it gives me an excuse to finally get new furniture :)
Saying goodbye...
We fit it all into the trailer!
I also gave her all of the stuff out of the boys/upstairs bathroom that we'd had since we got married.
Definitely time for an update!
Here is the new bathroom that I finished while the boys were in Price :) It's still missing a couple things, but almost done.
Now we just need to decide if we will move all of our upstairs furniture downstairs and get new stuff for upstairs, or just re-do the downstairs...

British Challenger Soccer Camp...2012

This year both boys got to do this fun soccer camp in Price with Hunter. It was June 18~22, so after our fun camping trip we continued on to Price and stayed Sunday night and planned to take the boys to their first day on Monday, then head back home while Ashton and Gunnar stayed with Nana and Papa for the week.
It started out really well Monday morning, the boys were both excited to go and got up and got dressed in their cute soccer clothes and were all ready to go have fun.
It was still going pretty well when we arrived. The boys were having fun doing little tricks while we waited...
...but it gradually went downhill when it was time to check in and separate off into their groups.
Poor Gunnar...he completely melted down and was terrified for us to leave him. He screamed. He cried. He clung to me with a death grip. It was SO sad. I cried, then I had to hand him off to Lars' Dad as he was still screaming and reaching for me. We got clear across the field on the way to the truck when I heard him screaming "I didn't get to give you a hug and a kiss!!!!" It just killed me...so I had to go back and hug him and kiss him. He calmed down just enough to let go of me and go to Nana. I still cried as I walked away and got into the truck...that was so hard :(
But I knew that he would have such a fun week just being there at their house and playing with Hunter and if he could make himself do it, he'd have fun at the soccer camp too.
So we headed home and stayed Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday night then headed back Thursday afternoon so that we could watch the last day of camp on Friday.
They really did have a lot of fun. Each day we would call and check in a few times...Gunnar ended up not participating a whole lot in the camp, but learned everything from the sidelines. We were still so glad that we signed him up and he got to spend all of that quality time with Nana, Papa and his aunt and unlce and cousins.
Ashton of course loved the camp and did great.
Lars and I had fun just being home alone...he went fishing alone one night while I went to a bridal shower for my friend Erica whose surprise engagement pictures I took. I also was able to go shopping with another friend and get caught up on a few other things at home.
On our last night Lars and I went and grabbed dinner, then went for a fun hike up Providence Canyon, then watched a movie.
We really missed the boys, but every once in awhile it's nice to have a little break when we know they are in good hands having so much fun!
We could hardly wait to get back to them on Thursday though and I think they were excited to see us too.
It was fun to go to the camp on Friday. HOT, but fun!
I can't say enough good things about this camp...the coaches are phenomenal and really just make it such a fun, positive experience for all of the kids!
They are so funny and the boys love their british accents.
Here are some of the fun pictures I got...
Gunnar and Coach Callum...(he had his hands full with all of the 3 & 4 year year olds!)
We really need to get this kid into gymnastics...:)
Our funny coaches all dressed up in silly clothes the kids brought from home...
All of the kids drenched the coaches at the end of the day and Ashton's coach Josh picked him up and hugged him to get him all wet too...
Cousins :)

Thanks Nana & Papa for a fun week!

Trampoline!

Well...we finally did it. We've gone back and forth about getting a trampoline, and this year we finally decided to do it. So a few Fridays ago in the middle of the day I asked the boys if they wanted to gather up all of their money and see how much they had, then I would tell them what they could put it towards if they wanted to. So off they went to count all of their money and I think we were all surprised when they came up with $133.00!!!  That included all of the money out of their wallets and piggy banks as well as they had earned from their Koolaid and Cookies stand. They had fun gathering it all and counting it and were so excited to put it all towards a tramp!
Goofballs!
So that night when Lars got home from work, we went and picked it out at Al's Sporting Goods and brought it home and started the LONG process of setting it up. Thank goodness for my awesome friend/backyard neighbor Lindee who came over and helped with the whole thing. I bet she regretted poking her head over the fence just as we were getting it out of the box :) haha...
Anyway we got done at about 11:00 that night after the boys were in bed. But they were SO excited the next morning! I don't think I've ever seen Ashton move so fast to get his chores done, breakfast eaten and teeth brushed! Gunnar woke up a little later and got his stuff done, so he could get out and jump too. They jumped, and jumped and jumped that day! And have enjoyed it lots of days since then...
These were my favorite pictures, when they got their ninja costumes on and went out and jumped for awhile...haha :)
It has turned out to be a fun purchase and fits perfectly in the spot out back where the swingset has been.

Need to update~!

I am getting so behind again...I have about 10 posts I need to do to catch up, but as I was working on a post and uploading pictures, it told me that I'd reached my quota on the number of free photos I could upload for my blog. I can't believe it took 4 years to give me that message! Anyway I will just have to pay a small fee each month now, but I have yet to get it to work to let me sign up for more storage...grrrr!

Anyway when I do finally get it to work...there will be lots of fun summer posts :)

On the list...

New Trampoline
Soccer camp in Price
Another newborn shoot
Sleepout on the tramp
Bathroom makeover
My date night with Ashton
First day spent at the pool this summer
4th of July festivities
First trip to Bear Lake

Okay about  9 posts...but I'm sure I'm forgetting something!
