British Challenger Soccer Camp...2012

This year both boys got to do this fun soccer camp in Price with Hunter. It was June 18~22, so after our fun camping trip we continued on to Price and stayed Sunday night and planned to take the boys to their first day on Monday, then head back home while Ashton and Gunnar stayed with Nana and Papa for the week.
It started out really well Monday morning, the boys were both excited to go and got up and got dressed in their cute soccer clothes and were all ready to go have fun.
It was still going pretty well when we arrived. The boys were having fun doing little tricks while we waited...
...but it gradually went downhill when it was time to check in and separate off into their groups.
Poor Gunnar...he completely melted down and was terrified for us to leave him. He screamed. He cried. He clung to me with a death grip. It was SO sad. I cried, then I had to hand him off to Lars' Dad as he was still screaming and reaching for me. We got clear across the field on the way to the truck when I heard him screaming "I didn't get to give you a hug and a kiss!!!!" It just killed me...so I had to go back and hug him and kiss him. He calmed down just enough to let go of me and go to Nana. I still cried as I walked away and got into the truck...that was so hard :(
But I knew that he would have such a fun week just being there at their house and playing with Hunter and if he could make himself do it, he'd have fun at the soccer camp too.
So we headed home and stayed Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday night then headed back Thursday afternoon so that we could watch the last day of camp on Friday.
They really did have a lot of fun. Each day we would call and check in a few times...Gunnar ended up not participating a whole lot in the camp, but learned everything from the sidelines. We were still so glad that we signed him up and he got to spend all of that quality time with Nana, Papa and his aunt and unlce and cousins.
Ashton of course loved the camp and did great.
Lars and I had fun just being home alone...he went fishing alone one night while I went to a bridal shower for my friend Erica whose surprise engagement pictures I took. I also was able to go shopping with another friend and get caught up on a few other things at home.
On our last night Lars and I went and grabbed dinner, then went for a fun hike up Providence Canyon, then watched a movie.
We really missed the boys, but every once in awhile it's nice to have a little break when we know they are in good hands having so much fun!
We could hardly wait to get back to them on Thursday though and I think they were excited to see us too.
It was fun to go to the camp on Friday. HOT, but fun!
I can't say enough good things about this camp...the coaches are phenomenal and really just make it such a fun, positive experience for all of the kids!
They are so funny and the boys love their british accents.
Here are some of the fun pictures I got...
Gunnar and Coach Callum...(he had his hands full with all of the 3 & 4 year year olds!)
We really need to get this kid into gymnastics...:)
Our funny coaches all dressed up in silly clothes the kids brought from home...
All of the kids drenched the coaches at the end of the day and Ashton's coach Josh picked him up and hugged him to get him all wet too...
Cousins :)

Thanks Nana & Papa for a fun week!
