Easter Weekend...

I'm getting behind again and sitting here trying to remember what we did over Easter weekend...
Oh yeah, well Friday was when we did the surprise proposal, then Saturday we got up got the boys ready to go over to the little neighborhood egg hunt...
This was the first time in a few years that we had been to it actually, so it was fun for them...
Then we came home and colored our eggs...always fun :)
Sunday we woke up to eggs all over the house and baskets full of fun stuff...
The boys hunted down all the eggs...
...then we got ready for church and went. When we got home we took our traditional Easter pictures on the front steps...
Wow these boys are so handsome and getting so tall! I loved Ashton's smile in these pictures...my little model :)
Then it was such a beautiful day we just hung out at home all day and they played outside a lot. Even set up the sprinkler for awhile.
Funny...Easter egg hunt in the snow one day, running through sprinklers the next !
I love Easter and why we really celebrate it and getting to teach our boys about it and see them start to understand a little more each year:)

Swingin' like a big boy!

It is a big day in a little boy's life when he learns how to pump on a swing all by himself!
Gunnar was so excited when he got the hang of it a couple weeks ago...then for awhile that was all he wanted to do.
So cute :)
I remember the same excitement in Ashton when he learned and when that was all he wanted to do. I sure love all these experiences as a Mom seeing such joy in these little boys...
These are precious days for sure :)

Goblin Valley...

After going to Salt Lake on Saturday, we headed down to Price to spend a few days of the boys' spring break. They love going there and playing with their cousin Hunter. I asked Ashton at one point what was his favorite thing we did over the break...Going to Planet Play? Or playing with Hunter at Nana & Papa's? With no hesitation he said Playing with Hunter!
And that's what he and Gunnar did for most of the first days we were there. Play, play, play!
On Monday, Lars and I went fishing for a few hours...yes it was cold! But it was fun...we don't get out by ourselves very often anymore and when we first met and first were married we used to go fishing all the time together. We caught a few fish...Lars caught a big brown that I need to get the picture of and put on here.
Then on Tuesday we decided to drive over to Goblin Valley...let's be honest I don't know exactly where it's at, just that it took an hour and a half to get there from Price and is somewhere near Green River, Utah. I had no idea it was so close and we'd never made the trip before. It is beautiful there and was heaven for the boys! They thought it was the greatest place ever...being able to run around and climb on all of the crazy rock formations. So fun!
Here are some of my favorites and what they looked like to me...
An Angry Bird!
A baby with it's hands reaching up...
Weird little faces...
Lars...
A frog face...
Mario Mushrooms...
Depending on how you look at it, either a duck...or Jaba the Hut from Star Wars...
It really is an amazing place and as we hiked around we wondered what it was like for the very first people who discovered it...can you imagine what they thought?
It was a beautiful 60 degree day...it felt good after lots of cold windy days, and I don't think it would be fun to go with it much hotter, I can't imagine camping there in the summer with no shade!
After we hiked all around the "goblins", we drove over to the camp spots and found a picnic table for lunch, then we went and hiked the Little Wild Horse Canyon. It was really neat too with all of the skinny "slots" to walk through...
God sure made us a beautiful world to live in didn't He?
That hike was a little long for some of us...(Papa & Gunnar :)...
But it was a really fun way to spend our last day there. We headed home on Wednesday and Lars went back to work for one day  (Thursday), then had Good Friday off. I love that his company gives him that day off since they aren't based in Utah!
Oh in the midst of all of this I was in pain trying to pass a kidney stone...they are not a fun thing to have! I finally passed it on Saturday morning...Halleluiah! Amazing how such a tiny little thing can cause so much pain.
I don't think I'd had one since I was pregnant with Ashton.
Next up...Easter :)

PLaNeT PLaY!

Last Saturday the 31st, we met Mat, Shelley, Ali and Hunter in Draper at a fun place called Planet Play. We went to celebrate our two redheads birthdays...Hunter's is the day after Gunnar's and that's where he wanted to go.
The boys loved it, and out of the places like that we've been to, I think it was the best too.
They got to ride go-karts, bumper cars, play laser tag, go minature golfing, do mini bowling (Gunnar's fave) and play tons of arcade games. We stayed for over 3 hours and they all had a blast. They also have a big pizza/pasta/salad/ice cream buffet that you can eat at over and over again the whole time you're there.
After we were pretty much done, the boys opened gifts from eachother then we headed down to Price for a few days of spring break.
That post coming next...
First, lots of pictures from our day...

Tooth #3!

Ashton pulled out his third tooth the other day while we were in Price. He has had a few wiggly ones for quite awhile now, but none wiggly enough to pull out until that day. Someone had asked him if he had any loose ones and he was showing which ones were and really started wiggling the bottom one. Then he sat and wiggled it and wiggled it forever until it started bleeding, at which point he wandered off to the bathroom to look in the mirror while he wiggled it.
A few minutes later we heard "It came out!!" and we rushed in to see this face...
Good job Ashton, all on your own this time!
He was pleased to find out that the tooth fairy will find your tooth even if you're not in your own bed at home. He wondered if she would leave him something AND let him keep his tooth, so he wrote a note asking if she would please leave him his tooth. I didn't think she would, but he was excited to see that along with 2 dollars she did indeed leave him his tooth! Of course he wants to keep it forever...just like every other little thing he finds anywhere!
On a side note...I kept wishing I could yell those same words from the bathroom, but my kidney stone has yet to "Come out!"
Hopefully soon...

The rest of those "4" pictures...

Here are the few other pictures from our very short photoshoot :)
We started at home...
Then took a short drive to our spot.
 I love this one...
I could not get the lighting right and couldn't get him to stand in front of a red or blue stripe instead of the light yellow one that he in his yellow shirt and his 4 blend right into! oh well...
And then it he was done...
(and look standing in front of the red part!)
Yes I told him he could fill up his whole fuzzy ball jar and earn a prize if he would take a few good pictures :)
cute little hand....
