Wellsville Mile!

For the past few weeks Ashton has been running every day at school to prepare for the Wellsville Mile. Kids from all of the schools on the South end of the valley
get to train for and compete in it every year in May. Apparently it is a tradition that has gone on for years and years.
So Lars and I went out and watched him run on Tuesday and it was a lot of fun. He did so great!
He finished in 7 minutes 53 seconds!

Mother's Day...

I say it every year, but I really love Mother's day...
This year we went to church on Saturday night, then out to dinner with Lars' parents. So on Sunday I got to sleep in. So nice...these days it is really rare!
Then Lars and the boys brought in breakfast and cards for me :)
Cards and their words are always my favorite part of the day :)
Well said Gunnar ;)...
Lars said when he got up, the boys were already sitting on the couch doing this on their etch a sketch's :)
Lars and his Mom before they headed home that morning...
Then a little later we went for a run/bike ride. Long run for me...
And that afternoon the boys put the sprinkler under the tramp and jumped for awhile.
Nice to just relax at home mostly that day...
I am so grateful every day for my wonderful Mom and that I get to be the mom of these two sweet boys!

Spring Piano Recital...

Ashton had his spring piano recital last Thursday and played the theme song from Super Mario 64. He did great!
Nana and Papa came up early that day to stay for the weekend, so they got to come watch.
So proud of him :)

Capsa 5K...

I signed us all up for a 5K (3.1 miles) and we all went and did it a couple Fridays ago. It didn't start till 7:00 that night and it was perfect weather. When I told the boys that's what we were doing, they at first didn't want to do it and were complaining, but then they ended up running the whole thing! I could tell Gunnar was worn out, but he would not stop, and I had to run faster to keep up with Ashton!
They did so great and it was such a fun Friday night. It was a big fundraiser for Capsa which is the women's shelter here in town, so I was glad we got to do it in support of that.
Pictures from the night...
Me and my friend Stefanie who does Ragnar with me...
Her son was first place in the whole thing, he is fast!
 Boys with their medals...
My friend Shelly and I, she is on the board for Capsa and helped organize this...

Random phone pics...

I take so many picture with my phone these days because it is always with me, here are some recent ones :)
Ashton got to "Rock the Halls" after earning so many AR points...The kids get to run down the halls with the principal, and they get a medal.
Gunnar did it a long time ago, but I don't think I ever posted his picture.
Very rainy soccer game sitting under the umbrella. Lots of rainy soccer games this spring, but they are still fun!
Gunnar's coaches and friends started calling him Sherman awhile ago after the character in this movie. Kind of funny!
I still love to watch them sleep...and love that he still sleeps with Shockey :)
Thanks for this book you sent to Gunnar Kathleen!
I love spring and I love these two trees in our front yard when they are in full bloom. They smell SO good! It only lasts a week and a half or 2 before the blossoms all blow off, but I love them!
I ended up being inside painting most of the days that they were blooming and was sad I couldn't just be sitting out in the yard enjoying them...
So cute in his hat from Yellowstone...we are heading up there again for Memorial day this year, can't wait!
I still take Gunnar to school every day and walk him in. However even though he wants to me to walk him in, I am not allowed to kiss or hug him goodbye. He is already embarrassed and it makes me sad! :(
So I get my hugs and kisses at home and in the car...
Oh and he takes his soccer ball every day...
He just looked cute stirring my butter for me when I was making chicken pot pie...
Awhile ago Ashton mastered his real Rubix cube, so he decided to make his own homemade one! This kid...
Not sure why it took all these years to have Lars make and hang up something like this in the world's tiniest laundry room, but I am loving it...no more backpacks and jackets sitting on the washer!
I had the boys get under the tramp one day after soccer games and pull all the weeds for me. There were quite a few and it is a good job for them!

Hyrum fishing...

We took our boat out to Hyrum to fish a couple weekends ago for the first time in a long time. We caught a few fish and it was fun to get out for a few hours :)

First fire of the year...

A few Saturdays ago we went up to one of our favorite spots up Blacksmith Fork Canyon and had a bbq and our first campfire of the year with the Villas.
It is always so much fun...we laughed so much that night. So grateful for good friends :)
I am reminded once again that I need to not just use my phone to take pictures when I have other nice cameras that take way better ones!
