MoNsTeR TrUcK RaLLy!

Last night I took the boys to McDonald's, then we went to the Monster Truck Rally that was at the fairgrounds.
We went with the Hansons and it was lots of fun. These boys always have fun together! And of course Brianne and I do too :)
Some of my favorite pictures from the night...man I love my Nikon, one of the best investments I've ever made!
I loved their reactions to the trucks...
So glad Ashton and Gunnar have these buddies who are more like cousins :)
Yes we had eaten at McDonald's earlier, but the boys couldn't resist a piece of pizza too...haha :)
 So much fun!

A few more randoms...

Just a few things I forgot in my last post...
The other day when I told Gunnar to go get dressed in a shirt I laid out for him, he yelled back to me..."You mean this one with the two bananas on it Mom?" haha :)
Then at one of Ashton's soccer practices, we spotted this huge sunflower hanging over the fence and went to check it out...
I love this picture of Gunnar!
Some days he still loves to be my little helper :)
Some days we go for a walk after we get Ashton off to school.
Gunnar talks my ear off and says some funny stuff. One day I was getting ready to go down one of our big hills and he told me "Run fast Mom cause you have a fat bum!" Little stinker!
I love this picture of his cute monster feet sticking out...haha.
A few weeks ago Lars was heading out for a hike and the boys asked him to bring them back a rattle off a rattlesnake...
Well, ask and you shall receive!
Gross...
Lars said they were hiking and in front of them on the trail, sure enough there was a rattlesnake, so they chased it down (not a good idea!) and let's just say they got the rattle off of it. Glad I wasn't on that hike...
This past week I spent the good part of one day (with lots of little interruptions) getting caught up on my scrapbooking. Did I mention how much I love these albums??
I got almost 30 pages done! hmmm...maybe I won't go digital just yet.
We are home alone while Lars is gone hunting again, possibly the whole week! But we are having fun...somehow we always manage to find stuff to do.
Last night was the Monster Truck Rally! I'll post about that next...
Today Gunnar and I slept in till 9...heaven. Ashton loves to get up early by himself...I think he was up by 7:30. Today he snuck downstairs and watched part of a movie on the new tv.
Then we had soccer at noon and I'm happy to say the rest of the day (after they not very happily cleaned up the playroom) they have been playing nicely together! They've been playing something (who knows what!)for a long time in the spare bedroom closet...haha. I love days like today....

cleaning off my camera and catching up...

I just cleared all the pictures off of my camera and decided I needed to do a random post of the past couple weeks...

One day I was trying to finish getting ready for the day, and Gunnar was wanting me to be done sooner than later so I would come play with him. I just needed a few more minutes, so I bet him that he coudn't make me 5 cubes out of his fun Magz magnetic set. I love that he still loves to try to win my bets :)  ...and that that kind of stuff still works on him!
He was so proud of himself when he not only built 5, but went on to build 11!

Then he continued to play with his magz for awhile after that...
Last week Grandma came down to hang out and go to Gunnar's kickball game that night. She even made our dinner for us...that was nice!
Gunnar of course had to show her his tricks...
And he LOVED having her come for his game...
Last week one of the days was walk to school day, so the boys and I got up and ready early to be to Vons park to wait for a bus to drop off kids, then we all walked to school.
They have bread and milk for the kids when they get there before they start their day. Ashton cracked me up when he was finishing his delicious WHITE bread. He asked "Mom...do they sell this at the store, and can we please get some??" Such a treat for him...haha :)
Another day last week we brought my friend's cute girls home with us because she had to go to a funeral out of town. Lexy and Avaia got to stay with us till almost 8:30 that night and the the boys had SO much fun with them! They laughed and laughed and had the best time!
Lars also started his Wyoming deer hunt last weekend...he left on Friday morning and came home Sunday night.
Breakfast with Dad that morning before he left...
Ashton helped me make waffles and smoothies.
Then Gunnar had fun climbing Mount Daddy before it was time for him to go.
He didn't get to hunt at all last year due to his injury, so I'm glad he gets to go this year.
Just a cute picture of Gunnar with his webkinz while we waited for Brett to come get Daddy... :)
Then having so much fun riding his bike...
Then he spent a long time raking up our few leaves. He and Ashton are getting excited for when there is a big pile!
Movie night while Dad was gone...we watched the Lorax, a new favorite.
We love it! Of course all of their guys have to watch it with us :)
And movie night isn't movie night without licorice!
First time in a long time they've played in the sandbox...they were making rollercoasters.
Aunt Kelli came down for the weekend and brougt them some new books. Ashton was so excited to get Harry Potter, and immediately started reading it and is totally loving it...
I even caught him outside reading it between times of playing :)
Last week Ashton told me one day after school that he wanted to start riding his bike to and from school. ALONE. Or with his friends anyway...the alone part meaning he didn't want Gunnar and me tagging along anymore.
It made me sad. I mean yes I knew this day would be coming and honestly thought it would come long before now...most of his friends have been riding or walking alone since last year, but it still made me sad.
However I do want him to be able to have more independence and freedom, so I agreed, but the first time I decided to let him do it, I told him I would just drive ahead and park at the school and watch for him to ride by.
Well I did that, but the minutes ticked by and he never rode by! Eventually another Mom came up to my car and told me that he was still back on our street and he had wrecked and his chain had come off his bike and all of his friends had left him. Ugghhh! Of course this happens the very first time I'm not right there. By the time I got back to him, he was crying and alone and I felt so bad for him :(
He was about to be late for school, so I just had him jump in the car and another Mom took his bike home for us. I got him to school in time, but it was a rough start to his day. I was able to get his chain back on, but he wasn't too interested in riding it to school the next few days.
But by Friday he was ready to try it again and off he went. I let him do it and promised I wouldn't follow. It was hard, but I did it. And he did it! Of course I knew he could, but yes it still made me sad. He's growing up so fast...
Gunnar is too...he's had a few bigger kid moments lately too.
Awhile ago he decided he doesn't need his potty seat any more, and this week he's learned to put his seatbelt on all by himself. Yes he also probably could have done these things long ago, but I guess I never made him.
He came out of his room yesterday looking like this saying "I'm ready for kickball Mom!" goofball :)
I love when he chooses a sleeper to wear after his bath. He's so cute.
Of course he had to do some headstands...
love the monster feet :)
He thought this picture was so funny with his feet looking so big...haha.
Love him. Love these days...
I guess that's about it for now.

Back to PrEsChooL!

Gunnar finally had his first day of his second year of preschool on Friday, Sept. 7th.
Seems like his school is always the last to start. He was super excited to go and got ready so nicely. As usual I took a bunch of pictures before we got in the car to go. He looked so darn cute, I just couldn't resist :)
 Ready to go!
 In front of his school...
Ready to play and have fun...
He was in such a fun mood after I picked him up...so we took a few more haha :)
Oh my goodness I love this boy! He is so adorable...
I can't believe you're already 4 1/2 Gunnar...I will miss you these 3 days a week, but am happy I still have the rest of the days with you at home with me and will treasure them all as they fly by :)
