Bedroom project!

Well we took the boys to Price last Friday and stayed there with them till Sunday, then left them there with Nana and Papa and headed home. It was hard to leave them...they are rarely without me and I always feel guilty whenever I leave them, but it made it even harder that Gunnar had been sick the night before. But after falling asleep at 6:00 that night and sleeping till 7:00 Sunday morning he woke up feeling and acting fine, so we decided to go ahead with our plan and head back home. The whole reason for this trip and them staying for most of the week was that we had signed Ashton up for a soccer camp there with his cousin Hunter, and we didn't want to leave Gunnar out, so we decided to have him stay too while we came home and got stuff done. One of the main things I've wanted to do forever and planned out to do this week was paint our bedroom and have Lars do some wood work in there too. So Monday morning first thing, I got up and started painting, and painted all day long till Lars got home from work. Then we went and got the rest of our supplies and started a little on the chair rail that night. Tuesday Lars had to work, so I finished touching up the paint, then did a lot of other little organizing projects around the house until he got off work and we could do the rest of the chair rail and all of the wood slats spaced out around the bottom half of the wall. Kelli arrived as we were in the midst of all of this, so she took some lovely pictures :)

Anyway after Lars got all the wood up (and did a fabulous job...although not very happily) I stayed up painting all of it till about 12:30 that night. I just have to say that I Love, love, love how it turned out! It looks so good and is exactly what I had wanted!

Good thing we kept busy, because we were so worried about the boys...well mostly Gunnar. Ashton has had a blast at his soccer camp and just playing non stop with Hunter! But poor Gunnar ended up getting sick again and was up throwing up most of Monday night and was still not feeling too well off and on Tuesday. We kept being on the verge of going to get him, but then he'd perk up and feel a little better so we never did. But then unfortunately Nana got sick, then early this morning Ashton did and he had to miss his camp today :( I feel so bad about the whole situation and just can't wait to get down there this afternoon to see them. Gunnar keeps calling me crying and asking when we're ever going to come back. He is so done and I'm so ready to have them back here. Just praying they don't pass it all along to us :)

(all of those other posts are almost done, just need to put pictures in them...stay tuned)

So many things to catch up on...

But not tonight...
I am supposed to be packing to go to Price tomorrow, and I need to clean the house too because I can't stand to come home to a messy house. Especially when we are coming home without Ashton and Gunnar! Yes it's true...they get to spend most of the week with Nana and Papa and they are so excited! Ashton is doing a soccer camp with his cousin Hunter all week and Gunnar couldn't be left out, so he gets to stay and play too. Hopefully he'll still be excited when he realizes we're not staying there all week with them...
Lars has to work all week and I decided it would be a good opportunity to catch up on all of those little projects around the house that never get done with kids at home. As well as one big project that I can't believe I talked Lars into :) Stay tuned for that...
It will be good for me to stay busy, because I will miss Ashton and Gunnar so much, but I know they will have fun.

Anyway we are having a great summer so far...I just have to say I LOVE summer! I love that Ashton gets up every morning and immediately checks our little weather man to see how warm it is already, then gets SO excited when he sees it's already 80 at 9:00 in the morning! Oh and did I mention that both of them have been sleeping in till almost that late EVERY morning?? There was a time when I thought I would never sleep in again in my life...Yes I LOVE summer! So far it has been a busy one!

Here are the things I will catch up on when we get back to our very quiet house...

The Dinosaur Park
Swimming lessons
A day at the "Logan Pool"
Our new boat!!!

T-Ball
Ashton and Gunnar's First Lemonade stand :)
Flowers and Caterpillars
An update on Lars...

Wow I am so behind...but now I'm off to clean and think about how it will stay clean for a few days!

Last day of Kindergarten...

Ashton had his last day of kindergarten on June 2nd. It was "Super Kids Day" or what we all used to refer to as "Field day". He was so excited to go and had a really fun day. Wow, what a change from a very nervous little boy on that first day in August...He looks so much younger to me here!I of course was sad that it was the last day. Like I said before I will so miss this little class and his wonderful teacher... ...but I guess all good things have to come to an end. And we are excited for summer! I had to laugh when I was talking to my sister about field day...we both remember hating it! Kelli especially! Anyway speaking of Kelli, she is an awesome aunt. When she asked me if they had a graduation for kindergarten and I said no, she said "Well, I think we need to have a party for Ashton then." So we did and she planned it all and pretty much did all the work. Pretty much all I did was set up tables in the backyard and text all of the other Moms of kindergarteners in our neighborhood to let them know to come over with their kids after school. It was a surprise party for Ashton, so it was kind of fun. Kelli made these cute cupcakes (I think 48 of them!)... ...and brought them down from Evanston that morning and when all the kids came over we just let them play then eat their cupcakes. It was a fun ending to such a fun year! I'm glad I have 2 1/2 months before Ashton is gone to school ALL day next year!

Two teeth in two days!

Right after I did that last post about Ashton losing his first tooth, the next day he lost his second one. It all went down pretty much exactly the same way (with lots of drama), except after I gave it a good yank, he was the one who actually pulled it all the way out. There was again as much excitement as there was drama! Those first few days after he looked so different to me, but we're getting used to it now and one of his adult teeth is already popping up :)

Field trip to Willow Park...

I'm still trying to catch up on here...A few weeks ago I got to go on Ashton's second field trip of his kindergarten year with him to the Willow Park Zoo. It was a fun day for him and his class. We have been there many times, but this time Ashton got to go into a classroom and learn about a few different animals...an owl, a turtle, a snake, a bird (can't remember what it was!), and another something I can't remember. Then we all got to wander around the zoo...Each Mom was in charge of 4 kids... Then all the kids got to play on the playground for a bit before it was time to have a quick snack , take a group picture then get on the bus and head back. The bus is half the fun for these kids! I had to take a picture of this (that was attached to the wall of the bus) because it totally grossed me out. Anyway...it was a fun day :)

Another newborn turned 1 year old!

Remember this cute little guy...? Well he will turn 1 next week, so we went out a few days ago & did a little photo shoot of him and his cute sister. They are my good friend Lindee's kids Addy and Cade... It was a lot of fun and they both cooperated so well! I'm still editing, but here are some of my favorites so far :)
Aren't they adorable? I'll get them all done for you soon Lindee :)
