The best Spring Break...

We stayed Easter Sunday night in Price and then got up really early Monday morning (5 am) and got ready to go catch our train to Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
It was scheduled to leave at 6:30...we got there about 15 minutes early and it showed up a few minutes before it was scheduled to, so we got on and within minutes it took off again.
Kind of fun getting on in the dark...
After about 45 minutes or so (and much begging from the boys), we walked back to the dining car and had breakfast. That was so fun! And pretty good food actually. Ashton and Gunnar loved getting to eat breakfast as they sped along, looking out the window of a train.
After we finished we went back to our seats for a bit, then they wanted to walk around again so we walked back to the lounge car where the seats face out and you can just sit and look out at the scenery. So pretty!
They didn't last long there before Ashton wanted to walk down to the snack car where I let him get a root beer. Then they pretty much sat in their seats the rest of the way besides getting up to use the bathroom.
It was just so nice that they had so much room in their seats and could get up and move around. It made it go by so much faster than a car ride!
I think I liked it even more than they did :)
So peaceful and relaxing...loved it!
We stopped in Grand Junction for about 15 minutes so we got out to walk around for a few minutes, but Ashton wanted to get right back on to make sure we didn't get left behind.
As we pulled into Glenwood Springs, our final destination, we could tell it had been raining pretty hard.
But when we got off the train, it had cleared up and was really nice.
We walked the short distance to the bus stop where we caught a shuttle up to our hotel.
Hotel Glenwood Springs...
It was a really nice hotel and had the best pool. And was also really nice because it had the trams that go up to the Adventure Park right in the same parking lot...
After we checked in the boys immediately changed into their suits and wanted to head straight to the pool.
Yes I even got in this time :)
We played there for a couple hours, then came up and got showered and walked down to this place for dinner...
Unfortunately it wasn't the best, my fish tacos were not good!
Oh well...win some, lose some.
We walked over to this cute little park right by our hotel after dinner. I love these pictures...
After that it was about time to get ready for bed. The boys were exhausted after our early morning, so they fell asleep fast!
I love these pictures even more :)
Gunnar brought almost all of his Webkinz on this trip...
We got up on Tuesday morning & went down for our continental breakfast, they had a pretty good one.
After breakfast I went for a run on a cool trail that ran along the river by that little park. It was so nice!
Then while Lars took the boys swimming, I got ready for the day. Then we all got ready to ride the tram up to the adventure park for the day.
The tram was really fun...the boys loved being in it and being up so high!
The Adventure park was a lot of fun too.
When we got up there we went straight to the Alpine Coasters. I've always heard about the ones in Park City, but didn't really know what they were. I was a little nervous at first and hit the brakes a lot, but after we'd done it a few times, the boys would say "No Brakes!" and we'd go down full speed ...so fun!
And so nice because we didn't have to wait in line at all, we'd get off and get right back on since there was hardly anyone there that day.
After we'd done those a few times, we went over and they crawled through this little maze box a couple times...I couldn't believe it said that even someone almost as big as Lars could do it! But he didn't :)
Then we went over and watched these little 4D motion movies...
Then we had just enough time to go to the little restaurant up there to eat lunch before our cave tour started.
Beautiful view from the restaurant...
The cave tour was kind of fun...luckily Ashton had forgotten all about the time we went down into the Minnetonka caves over by Bear Lake when he was SO nervous that we'd never make it back out and kept asking if there was a door out at the bottom :)
And luckily this one wasn't nearly as many steps in and out.
After that, we went in and played Laser tag...they always love that. I had actually never played before and it was really fun!
Then we had to go back and do the coasters a bunch more before the park closed for the day.
They got these cute arrow head necklaces for their souvenir, then we got back on the tram and headed down to the hotel.
It was such a fun, fun day!
After we got back, we walked down to another restaurant called Chomps. Just a soup and sandwich place, but really good.
Then more swimming, then off to bed. They slept so good each night because they were so tired.
Next up...our bike ride and the hot springs :)

Wow, just reading all you did makes me tired! :) Ashton and Gunnar are so lucky to have parents who love to do all that. :) The part I would have liked is the train ride. It brought back memories of diner cars and lounge cars etc. since we rode the train a lot when I was growing up. :)
