PLaNeT PLaY!

Last Saturday the 31st, we met Mat, Shelley, Ali and Hunter in Draper at a fun place called Planet Play. We went to celebrate our two redheads birthdays...Hunter's is the day after Gunnar's and that's where he wanted to go.
The boys loved it, and out of the places like that we've been to, I think it was the best too.
They got to ride go-karts, bumper cars, play laser tag, go minature golfing, do mini bowling (Gunnar's fave) and play tons of arcade games. We stayed for over 3 hours and they all had a blast. They also have a big pizza/pasta/salad/ice cream buffet that you can eat at over and over again the whole time you're there.
After we were pretty much done, the boys opened gifts from eachother then we headed down to Price for a few days of spring break.
That post coming next...
First, lots of pictures from our day...

Tooth #3!

Ashton pulled out his third tooth the other day while we were in Price. He has had a few wiggly ones for quite awhile now, but none wiggly enough to pull out until that day. Someone had asked him if he had any loose ones and he was showing which ones were and really started wiggling the bottom one. Then he sat and wiggled it and wiggled it forever until it started bleeding, at which point he wandered off to the bathroom to look in the mirror while he wiggled it.
A few minutes later we heard "It came out!!" and we rushed in to see this face...
Good job Ashton, all on your own this time!
He was pleased to find out that the tooth fairy will find your tooth even if you're not in your own bed at home. He wondered if she would leave him something AND let him keep his tooth, so he wrote a note asking if she would please leave him his tooth. I didn't think she would, but he was excited to see that along with 2 dollars she did indeed leave him his tooth! Of course he wants to keep it forever...just like every other little thing he finds anywhere!
On a side note...I kept wishing I could yell those same words from the bathroom, but my kidney stone has yet to "Come out!"
Hopefully soon...

The rest of those "4" pictures...

Here are the few other pictures from our very short photoshoot :)
We started at home...
Then took a short drive to our spot.
 I love this one...
I could not get the lighting right and couldn't get him to stand in front of a red or blue stripe instead of the light yellow one that he in his yellow shirt and his 4 blend right into! oh well...
And then it he was done...
(and look standing in front of the red part!)
Yes I told him he could fill up his whole fuzzy ball jar and earn a prize if he would take a few good pictures :)
cute little hand....

Four!

March 28th finally came and this little boy was SO excited!
One more sleep Mommy...the night before :)
Then he was "READY TO WAKE UP!" (he yells this every morning just like Ashton always did rather than just coming out of his room) at 7:00 am. Remember he was sleeping in till 8:30? Yep he was excited! And I had been excited to get up at 7:00 to make sure I got his breakfast in bed ready. He beat me...Oh well I talked him into staying in bed while I got it ready. Ashton had gotten up a few minutes after him and took his DS in & played with Gunnar while I made breakfast...
Gunnar loved his 4 pancake and loved having his first breakfast in bed.
Of course Ashton joined in on the fun, the whole time asking if he got any presents too.
Gunnar opened his Leapster case, new Cars 2 game and Tickle Monster book.
He was excited and cute as always with his shy smile.
Then it was time to get Ashton ready and off to school. Aunt Kelli came down to help out and be there for Gunnar's party, so she and Gunnar played while I took Ashton to school, then we all went for a run.
Then Aunt Kelli gave Gunnar his gift from her and he loved it! Magz...
Fun magnet building set. He has played and played with it. Thanks Aunt Kelli :)
At noon we met Lars for lunch at McDonald's. Well we grabbed Subway for us, but let Gunnar get his happy meal and play in playland...Birthday boy gets to choose!
By the time we got done Grandma got to town, so she met us at Walmart to get our balloons blown up (way too big by the way...half of them popped within the hour. grrrr).
Anyway then we headed home so I could finish the cake.
One of my faves so far...
Did I mention we love monsters??
Gunnar loved watching me put his "fur" on him. And loved how he turned out...
His eyes are suckers covered in white candy melts and black paint for the center. Totally not edible...oh well :) And his mouth is fondant...(not edible in my opinion either.)
I love thinking of ideas for cakes and decorating them! But couldn't do it without my sister there to help me with the gazillion dishes, and well she actually baked the cakes...can't forget to mention that. Oh and made the frosting and fondant...haha! Wait, what part did I do again?
Thanks Kelli :)
So after Lars got home we ate a quick dinner and headed down to the "green park" where we had celebrated Gunnar's 2nd Birthday.
I guess I just need to accept that chances are pretty good that we WON'T have nice weather on March 28th. Ever.
Every year so far it has been super windy & a bit chilly. Flash back to his 1st Birthday
...we had his party inside, but had plenty of wind to fly kites outside afterwards. And of course we flew kites on his second too. Last year on his 3rd, it must have been just way too cold to even attempt to have it outside and this year we SHOULD have had kites.
I think every year from now on I will just put "bring a kite to fly" (or come build a snowman!) on the invitations and maybe we will finally have a calm day.
Anyway.......
Even with the wind, it was a fun party. Kids never care about the weather...half of them were running around without coats on.
Gunnar invited a couple little boys from his school as well as Amalia and Owen and we also had Amalia's family and the Hansons.
Him and his boy buddies :)
 Gunnar and Aunt Kelli :)
Thanks for all of your help Grandma...I love this picture of me with two of my very favorite people in the world :)
First we opened presents, and got LOTS of fun new stuff...
Super cute monster hat from Hansons :)
Fun kids video camera from us...
So excited about his new playhouse from Grandma & Grandpa Harry...
Opening his new Ninjago pajamas...I love the look on his little friend Carter's face, hahahaha :)
And the look on his face here...
(oh and he's hardly taken them off since he got home that night :)
And lots of other stuff...it just takes WAY to long to upload pictures onto here and I need to go to bed!
After presents he wanted to do the pinata...
All ready to go...awww look at the innocent look on our monster's face.
Sad I didn't get a clear picture of Gunnar swinging...oh well
Then we finally had our cake and ice-cream.
We were singing to Gunnar here and he got so shy and just looked down...
Poor guy didn't get to actually blow his candles out :(
 So we pretended...haha :)
Then after a little more running around we handed out our party favors and headed home.
Happy, Happy Birthday Gunnar!
You are so adorable, fun, smart, sensitive, SO funny, caring, giving, helpful, sometimes feisty,  kissable, huggable, snuggle-able, and just an all around awesome kid. We love you SO SO much and feel blessed to have you in our family every single day.
Glad you can finally say you're "Fo"!
I seriously cannot describe just how much I love you little boy :)

Haircuts finally!

The time had come. And gone. So finally after planning to do haircuts for about 2 weeks, we got them done today. OUTSIDE :) So much better than in my kitchen!
Even though I don't cut much hair these days, I am so glad I have my license and have this skill that saves money every month on taking them somewhere!
Ashton still HATES to get his hair cut. Always has.
We used to have to distract him with phones & all sorts of other things...he was such a cute baby!
I keep waiting for him to get a little better about it, but he must have a sensitive head like me. And let's be honest...he can't stand to sit still and take precious time away from playing.
I told Lars to take some pictures, but he didn't get around to it until it was Gunnar's turn.
Gunnar does so well now. Sits still the whole time and giggles when I get his neck hairs :)
I like his hair a little bit longer, so he just got a little trim.
Cute boy!
Here they are after,
they did a lot of this all weekend...
You are so handsome Ashton!
They both happened to put the same mismatched jammies on after their showers...funny coincidence :)
Love the swingset and the nice weather this weekend! Praying for it to continue on through Wednesday...
Only 3 more sleeps till the big day;)
