Sunday...Ferry to Cozumel and snorkeling!

On Sunday we got up early and took a taxi into Playa...
We walked around there for a little bit and took some pictures with this statue thing...
...then bought tickets for the ferry that goes over to Cozumel and also booked a boat to take us out snorkeling once we got over there.
The ferry ride was about 40 minutes and luckily didn't make either of us sick!
Waiting for the ferry...
Once we got to Cozumel we had about 20 minutes before we had to get on our little boat to go snorkeling so we went and got some snacks and Lars changed into his swim suit (in an alleyway!) while I held up a towel for him because we couldn't find a close bathroom.
Lots of these little bugs driving around as well as scooters...
Then we got on the boat.
There were about 12 of us and they took us out a little ways into the ocean and we were able to snorkel in 3 different spots. You know me...swimming is not my favorite, but this was actually lots of fun.
I wore a life jacket...or I might have drowned!
But it was fun to see all of the colorful fish...and our guide was a fun Mexican guy Alberto. All of the Mexican people we encountered were so sweet...I loved that about this trip.
Once again I wished I would have had an underwater camera, but I didn't. However at one point some other guy popped up out of the water and told us to pose for a picture and later found us and sold us this...
Kind of a funny picture, but I was glad to have it :)
After we were all done, we got back on land and went and changed out of our wet swimsuits (in a bathroom this time!) and ate at a yummy Mexican restaurant...
Then we took the ferry back over to Playa and walked around 5th Avenue for awhile...tons of little shops and restaurants.
It was fun just to wander around just the two of us. I told Lars at one point that it was fun to just be somewhere where we didn't know anyone!
Lars traded in a bunch of our cash for pesos and luckily he is smart enough to understand the exchange rate and had fun paying with them! We also brought some back for the boys to have...
We also found some t-shirts for the them, then finally got a taxi back to our resort.
We ate dinner at one of the buffets, then they had all of these vendors out that night and there was a Mexican show going on that we watched for a few minutes...
 Another beautiful, fun day!

More Mexico...

On Saturday we just hung out at the resort all day again...slept in, went to a late breakfast, then went and hung out on the beach for awhile.
So nice to just relax!

After awhile Lars went and checked out some snorkel gear and went snorkeling right there off of our beach. He said there were tons of fish and he loved it!
I just sat back and read my book and did a lot of people watching.
People from everywhere...I've never heard so many different languages.
Oh and there were these people wandering the beach trying to get people to take pictures with baby alligators, monkeys and a huge iguana...
After we'd spent a couple hours, we went back to our room to cool off for awhile, then went to dinner that night at one of the nice "a la carte" restaurants on the resort. A La Carte meaning...not buffet. We ordered from a menu. It was really good!
Lars and the enormous beer they brought to him...
We had a table that looked out over the sand and ocean. At one point a raccoon came up and put it's paws up on my chair and scared me to death! They are another animal that we saw wandering everywhere around the resort.
I kind of squealed when it scared me and that was enough to scare it away from jumping up on my lap! hahaha :)
I can't remember which show it was that night, but we missed most of it because of our late dinner reservations. So we just wandered around for awhile after eating then went back to our room.
I had really kinked my neck ziplining the day before so it was nice to just have a relaxing day...

Day 3...XPLOR park in Mexico!

We booked this fun excursion for our second full day in Mexico...We took a bus to the XPLOR park that morning and spent the whole day there.
It was SO fun! I have to admit I was so nervous that morning when we were getting ready to go. Nervous to do the zip lines. But once I'd done a couple of them, I loved it...We did 14 total! My only regret was that I wasn't able to bring my camera because some of the zip lines landed in water. I really wish I'd bought a waterproof camera for this trip! Oh well...live and learn. I did take a few pictures of the pictures that the park took of us and posted on screen. So they are super blurry, but oh well at least you can see that we zip lined :)
We just stayed in our swim suits all day knowing we'd be wet all day, and we just wore the helmets all day...the way that this place was set up was that this big beating heart was in the center and all of the paths led back to here...
Then you'd take different paths to do all of the activities. So we kept all of our stuff in a locker and just came back to this area after each thing we did and after eating lunch etc...
After we ate lunch we went and drove these fun amphibious vehicles through the jungle and in and out of caves.
This was so fun too!
We rode in these once then went and did the underwater cave rafting...
...then the swimming through the caves (my least favorite), then came back and did these cars again.
Then we finally got out of our wet swimsuits and got dressed and we had some time left before we had to go find our bus, so we went back to the buffet and ate a little more then found these hammocks and relaxed in them for awhile. It felt so good!!
That night back at the resort we tried out the Mexican buffet...it was good and had a fun Mariachi band...
Then the show that night was a Michael Jackson impersonator that was great!
Afterwards we wandered down to the beach in the dark...
Besides kinking my neck on one of the zip lines...it was such a fun perfect day!
