Super Hero Pep Rally & Walkathon...

This is my second year being the PTA president for the boys school. It is still strange to type those words, as never in a million years did I think I would do it not only once, but twice. But...on the other hand, I am so glad that I did it and did it again this year. It has been such a great experience for me out of my comfort zone!
It has kind of taken over a lot of my time the past month and a half because we had our big fundraiser for the year a few weeks after school started because we didn't have a fundraiser last year.
Anyway we did our big Walkathon like we have done in years past and we had to pull it together and plan it really quickly. Within 2 weeks actually. My treasurer Mindee was in charge of it for the most part, but I helped her every step of the way and like I said it took up A LOT of our time.

We started off with a really fun Super Hero pep rally to get the kids excited and to explain how it was all going to work. So we did a little skit with fun music all in our super hero costumes. It was a blast! And so fun to see how much the kids all loved it! Out theme was Be Your Own Super Hero and GO BIG...
And I have to say that I think our pep rally really contributed to how successful the walkathon ended up being.
Anyway some pictures from that day...
My favorite...I asked Jana to take a picture of Gunnar and me and clearly he was a tiny bit embarrassed of me...running away!
We also had all of our fun prizes to show the kids, including a couple of Kendamas...

...which if I have not mentioned it before are the biggest thing to hit the boys school since yo-yos and rubix cubes last year!
I got these fun toys for Ashton and Gunnar for Christmas last year, and they played with them for awhile at home and at school. But this year it has been crazy to walk down the halls of the school and see every other kid swinging one around! They are all obsessed with them!
So last minute I told my pta members that we had to give out Kendamas as some of our prizes and we decided to give one to each kid that brought in $75 or more. You should have seen the looks on their faces when we announced that! And I have to say that was one of our other big contributors to our success!
Pictures from the Walkathon...
The first day we had it scheduled for it rained hard all day long,
so we moved it to the next week and it was a beautiful sunny day.
Everyone had a great time and Ashton and Gunnar ran so hard!
So proud of them :)
And after finally wrapping it all up this week and counting all of the money, we raised over $11,000!!
We just need to have a final assembly tomorrow to give out prizes.
Oh and about 75 kids earned a Kendama!
Glad to have it done and that it went so well :)

First Aggie Football games...

Lars got season tickets to all of the home Aggie football games this year...the first one was a month ago and the second one was the Homecoming one and was yesterday.
Pics from the first one...
We have 5 tickets, so the boys will always get to take a friend. We took Jace to the first game and went to some of the pregame tailgating stuff.
Beautiful weather that first game...I loved how the sky looked! It looked like it might rain, but never did.
 Ice cream...
And a selfie because he actually sat with me :)
Last night's game...we brought Porter along...
I love this picture of these guys playing on the bounce slide before the game :)
Really nice weather for the first half, then it started lightning and raining hard!
Everything was sopping wet, so the boys and I left and Lars
got a ride home with a friend.
Fun to live in a college town and go to these games. But I think I prefer the basketball ones ;)

Back to School 2015

We had such a fun, busy summer...I really wasn't quite ready for it to end or for the boys to go back to school. It went by so fast this year!
But the day came and Ashton and Gunnar were excited to get back I think.
Ashton to 5th!! And Gunnar to 2nd!! It just blows me away to type that. Where does the time go?
There had been fires in Idaho that week that sent lots of smoke our way so these pictures look really orange from that...
Zipping up jackets and getting ready to go...
Gunnar still wants me to walk him in and I will continue until he begs me not to!
His new French teacher...Mr. Richard.
I will have to get a pic of him with his other teacher
later. Mrs. Mills...we LOVE her!
And Ashton has Mrs. Anderson...she is great too.

Hunter & Aunt Shelley's visit..

I am still so far behind that all of my posts are out of order now because I can't remember what we did when!
Anyway we had a really fun week when Shelley and Hunter came to visit in August before school started. Actually now I remember. It was the week that school started, because I remember Hunter hung out at the hotel they stayed at those two first days of school while they boys were in school!
Anyway on that Monday that they showed up, we all drove up and floated the narrows and had so much fun. I think we laughed the whole time. Lars kept telling us "bums up!" when he saw rocks ahead and then he wouldn't be paying attention and would hit his on a big rock! haha :)
Anyway it was a great time...hardly anyone up there. And we stopped off at Big J's on the way back for dinner.
The boys just loved having Hunter here and we loved having Shelley here too. They came because Shelley had a conference up at Utah State that week, so her job put her up in a hotel for the week.
The one night I put the boys to work stapling PTA stuff for me...they were a big help!
Great memories!

Lagoon!

As much as I really don't love Lagoon, we still had a really fun day last month when we finally took the boys for the day. They LOVE it so much, I can't help but enjoy watching them have so much fun.
We got there before it opened and got in line, then got in and waited again for about 20 minutes for them to let us go back to the rides. Everyone was heading straight for the new ride Cannibal. My boys included. They could not wait to try out this crazy ride. And luckily they got right in line and got onto the ride in one of the first groups. They loved it!
I think it would have scared me to death and made me sick.
They were able to ride everything they wanted a few times before it ever got very busy that day.
We ate at the Subway there in the afternoon, then they rode more rides in the afternoon and we got ice cream and did bumper cars a few times.
Those were my favorite parts of the day :)
Glad we checked it off our list for the year. They could not stop talking about it after we came home and I know it was a highlight of their year!
I loved that it closed at 6:00 that day...haha
