I just cleared all the pictures off of my camera and decided I needed to do a random post of the past couple weeks...
One day I was trying to finish getting ready for the day, and Gunnar was wanting me to be done sooner than later so I would come play with him. I just needed a few more minutes, so I bet him that he coudn't make me 5 cubes out of his fun Magz magnetic set. I love that he still loves to try to win my bets :) ...and that that kind of stuff still works on him!
He was so proud of himself when he not only built 5, but went on to build 11!
Then he continued to play with his magz for awhile after that...
Last week Grandma came down to hang out and go to Gunnar's kickball game that night. She even made our dinner for us...that was nice!
Gunnar of course had to show her his tricks...
And he LOVED having her come for his game...
Last week one of the days was walk to school day, so the boys and I got up and ready early to be to Vons park to wait for a bus to drop off kids, then we all walked to school.
They have bread and milk for the kids when they get there before they start their day. Ashton cracked me up when he was finishing his delicious WHITE bread. He asked "Mom...do they sell this at the store, and can we please get some??" Such a treat for him...haha :)
Another day last week we brought my friend's cute girls home with us because she had to go to a funeral out of town. Lexy and Avaia got to stay with us till almost 8:30 that night and the the boys had SO much fun with them! They laughed and laughed and had the best time!
Lars also started his Wyoming deer hunt last weekend...he left on Friday morning and came home Sunday night.
Breakfast with Dad that morning before he left...
Ashton helped me make waffles and smoothies.
Then Gunnar had fun climbing Mount Daddy before it was time for him to go.
He didn't get to hunt at all last year due to his injury, so I'm glad he gets to go this year.
Just a cute picture of Gunnar with his webkinz while we waited for Brett to come get Daddy... :)
Then having so much fun riding his bike...
Then he spent a long time raking up our few leaves. He and Ashton are getting excited for when there is a big pile!
Movie night while Dad was gone...we watched the Lorax, a new favorite.
We love it! Of course all of their guys have to watch it with us :)
And movie night isn't movie night without licorice!
First time in a long time they've played in the sandbox...they were making rollercoasters.
Aunt Kelli came down for the weekend and brougt them some new books. Ashton was so excited to get Harry Potter, and immediately started reading it and is totally loving it...
I even caught him outside reading it between times of playing :)
Last week Ashton told me one day after school that he wanted to start riding his bike to and from school. ALONE. Or with his friends anyway...the alone part meaning he didn't want Gunnar and me tagging along anymore.
It made me sad. I mean yes I knew this day would be coming and honestly thought it would come long before now...most of his friends have been riding or walking alone since last year, but it still made me sad.
However I do want him to be able to have more independence and freedom, so I agreed, but the first time I decided to let him do it, I told him I would just drive ahead and park at the school and watch for him to ride by.
Well I did that, but the minutes ticked by and he never rode by! Eventually another Mom came up to my car and told me that he was still back on our street and he had wrecked and his chain had come off his bike and all of his friends had left him. Ugghhh! Of course this happens the very first time I'm not right there. By the time I got back to him, he was crying and alone and I felt so bad for him :(
He was about to be late for school, so I just had him jump in the car and another Mom took his bike home for us. I got him to school in time, but it was a rough start to his day. I was able to get his chain back on, but he wasn't too interested in riding it to school the next few days.
But by Friday he was ready to try it again and off he went. I let him do it and promised I wouldn't follow. It was hard, but I did it. And he did it! Of course I knew he could, but yes it still made me sad. He's growing up so fast...
Gunnar is too...he's had a few bigger kid moments lately too.
Awhile ago he decided he doesn't need his potty seat any more, and this week he's learned to put his seatbelt on all by himself. Yes he also probably could have done these things long ago, but I guess I never made him.
He came out of his room yesterday looking like this saying "I'm ready for kickball Mom!" goofball :)
I love when he chooses a sleeper to wear after his bath. He's so cute.
Of course he had to do some headstands...
love the monster feet :)
He thought this picture was so funny with his feet looking so big...haha.
Love him. Love these days...
I guess that's about it for now.
