We spent 6 days last week in San Diego...Lars had been feeling bad that we hadn't taken the boys on a family trip this year, and we found some pretty inexpensive flights so we decided to go.
We left on July 20th and got home late on July 25th.
Our flight wasn't till about 1:00 on Sunday, so it was nice to not have to get up super early to make it to the airport that day we flew out. We grabbed some lunch at the airport then got on our flight...
Right when we got on the nice flight attendant guy asked the boys if they wanted to go meet the pilots and see the cockpit...of course they did and they thought it was so cool!
And as usual I had my camera out, so I snapped some fun pictures...
Then it was a really uneventful flight...
And we landed and took a shuttle over to get our rental car, then

drove the short distance to our hotel...
We stayed at a Country Inn and Suites and it was great.
The boys were into their swimsuits within 3 minutes and the hotel had the perfect pool for them. Great shallow end for Gunnar and deep enough for Ashton to practice his dives.
We hung out there for awhile, and it was actually kind of chilly in the shade that night!
Then we went looking for a Mexican place, but the one we'd looked up was closed on Sundays, so we ended up at this pizza place and it was really good!
Then we went back to the hotel and they probably swam again, but I can't remember...they swam so many times.
The next day we got up and had breakfast and got ready quickly to get to LEGOLAND as early as we could...
It was pretty packed from the minute we got there and continued to get more packed as the day went on.
So parts of the day were fun, but parts were really frustrating because of the crowds and the waiting.
Lots of pictures from the day...
This was the first thing they did and ran to get almost first in line, so they didn't have to wait...it was cute :)
So close to 48 inches!
The waterpark was fun too, but also packed!
This was one of their favorite things they did...we signed Ashton up for this right when we got there and went back for the class at 1:30, he got to program this little robot to do certain things...
our way too expensive churros...$16 for 4 of them!!
They also loved building and racing their own little Lego cars...
This was about the last thing they did...they finally waited in line for this roller coaster...about 45 minutes. I waited and watched for them and finally got this picture, I was hoping to get a better one! This is the ride Ashton loved when we came 5 years before when he was just 4!
Here's the one of Ashton & Lars from before...
Anyway Monday ended up being a long day...I'm glad we went, the boys are really into Legos and mostly had fun, but we won't be going back anytime soon!
Next up our day at the beach...
