Last day of second grade!

Wow! That year flew by...I can't even believe Ashton is already done with 2nd grade.
What a great year he had. I am so so proud of him!
I think the last day of school is just as exciting as the first. I went and dropped him off, then Gunnar and I went into his class to give Mrs. Olson her teacher appreciation gift. We got her movie tickets & some chocolate bars and Ashton wanted to make her a card and put the picture of him and her at his soccer game in it...
She was such a great teacher for Ashton and we were so grateful for her all year.
Then at the end of the day we went and picked him up and got to see who Gunnar will have for kindergarten next year.
He got the same teacher Ashton had...Mrs. Coburn and will also go in the afternoon. Which is what I prefer.
When we found Ashton he excitedly told me that he got Mrs. Rees for 3rd grade. He said that's who he was hoping for. I actually don't know who she is, but had heard great things about her from friends.
After school we went to Wal-Mart because Ashton has really been needing (wanting) some new markers...he is loving drawing lately. And we grabbed some lunch from Subway and took it to a park with a bunch of friends and stayed for about 4 hours. The boys had so much fun running around and playing (oh and coloring with their new markers :).
Gunnar found out that at least one of the little boys from his soccer team will be in his class and possibly another one too, so he was really excited about that.
There was a kid that had a whole Quidditch game set up too, so Ashton was loving that. (it's the game they play in all of the Harry Potter books).
That night Lars let the boys have a late night. He was so nice he didn't even give them a limit to how many kids they could invite, so we ended up having 11 boys running around including ours!!
(lovely sign Ashton made...)
It was a bit wild, but they had a lot of fun playing on the tramp, then playing badminton and volleyball.
I had made that big strawberry cake dessert, so they all had some of that then came in and watched Home Alone 3.
So I would say they had a fun day!
Now let the summer fun begin!
