Swimming & Huntington Beach...

Saturday we decided to just hang out at the hotel in the morning and let the boys swim as long as they wanted...I even got in for a bit (gasp!). It was another beautiful day and nice to just relax. The best thing about vacation to me is the escape from dishes, laundry, cooking and just all of the everyday stuff!
After lots of swimming we walked over to the Wendy's by our hotel and got lunch, then decided to rent a car for the rest of the day and Sunday.
So the boys and I hung out in the room while Lars got the car, then we got ready and headed down to Huntington Beach for the afternoon.
I have to say Ashton was thrilled with the hot pink and black zebra booster seat in the car :) hahahaha...
After we got down to the beach I was really glad we hadn't planned a whole beach day with swimming suits and everything because it was REALLY windy and not very warm! So it was fun to just let the boys run around in the sand and waves for an hour or so.
Ashton absolutely loves playing in the waves and I was having lots of fun taking pictures of him :)
My favorite! I love, love this picture...I think it's going on the wall :)
Gunnar got a little more brave this year and would run out a ways, then run fast back in before the waves could get him.
They both had fun searching through the sand for shells and whatever else they could find.
Then when we'd had enough of the wind, we drove down to all of the little shops and restaurants and found a place to park and wandered around till we decided on this little place to eat.
It was GOOD! I always love to try to find good fish tacos when we're at places like this and they had some. That dinner was another one of my favorite memories from the trip. The boys just sat and colored their coloring pages so nicely while we waited for our food...
...then Ashton got really slap happy and was being so cute and funny.
This is one of my favorite pictures of him from the trip...cute little missing teeth smile :)
After dinner we went and grabbed some ice cream at Baskin Robbins, then Lars wanted to walk out on the Pier.
We walked out a little ways, then headed back because it got so cold!
On our way back a bunch of guys were doing acrobatic tricks right there by the pier and kept yelling out that their show was starting in a few minutes, so we decided to stick around and check it out.
They call themselves the Flying Tortillas and we later found out that a few of them were on Ellen showing off their tricks recently.
Ashton and Gunnar thought they were so cool!

Especially when one of the guys jumped over 6 people!
Unfortunately since we stayed that extra 20 minutes or so to watch them, we ended up getting a parking ticket...grrr! Oh well...it was such a fun night.
Next up Mother's Day at Knotts Berry Farm :)
